This nature-fantasy digital photocollage is part of a series celebrating the four elements of which the ancient Greeks said all matter was made: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. The large wings in the center are from a mussel shell; the eyes are a combination of human eyes and the eyespots of an owl-eye butterfly.

As an artist I am a magician, transformer, and guide to other worlds. Using AI art programs, Adobe Photoshop, and other software, I combine images from a variety of sources to reveal secret places within and beyond our everyday surroundings. A favorite recent pastime is exploring the wildlife of exoplanets made visible through the telescope of my imagination. I was a writer (educational/nonfiction writer and poet) for most of my life, but beginning at age 50 (I am now 80) I revived a childhood dream of being an artist.
