Description

In the Middle Ages, people in some parts of Europe created statues of the Virgin Mary with dark skin. This almost-faceless woman, originally just a mannequin in a flea market, made me think of these Black Madonnas. The background, appropriately, is from Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
