As the days of the year--or of our lives--shorten and near their cycle's end, we remember long-past springs, opportunities fulfilled or missed, lost loves. Growing out of the "ghost" prints left by dead leaves on the sidewalk, this piece seeks to capture the elegaic mood of late autumn.

As an artist I am a magician, transformer, and guide to other worlds. I see landscapes in rocks and tree bark, sunsets and galaxies in the peeling paint of old cars. Using Adobe Photoshop and other software, I combine photographs, fractals, and other images from a variety of sources to reveal secret places within and beyond our everyday surroundings. Recent themes in my work include the spiritual/magical dimension of life and the changes wrought by time. I was a writer (educational/nonfiction writer and poet) for most of my life, but beginning at age 50 (I am now 75) I revived a childhood dream of being an artist.
