This boy has been swept out of the boring, predictable classroom of two-plus-two-equals-four into the much wider and wilder classroom of the imagination, where two plus two equals infinity, carnivorous orchids eat the blackboard, the chalk flaps away as a dragonfly, birds of paradise flit through the air, and unexpected creatures lurk in the underbrush--or even on his arm.
About Lisa Yount
As an artist I am a magician, transformer, and guide to other worlds. I see landscapes in rocks and tree bark, sunsets and galaxies in the peeling paint of old cars. Using Adobe Photoshop and other software, I combine photographs, fractals, and other images from a variety of sources to reveal secret places within and beyond our everyday surroundings. Recent themes in my work include the spiritual/magical dimension of life and the changes wrought by time. I was a writer (educational/nonfiction writer and poet) for most of my life, but beginning at age 50 (I am now 75) I revived a childhood dream of being an artist. My art has won prizes at local shows and has been exhibited (sometimes as one-woman shows) at Bay Area galleries and other...
